United Streaming

To prepare my students for the fifth grade MCAS Science test I take advantage of United Streaming! Last year I started showing US videos to review science topics that the kids learned in 3rd and 4th grade. I call it the MCAS Prep Video Series (the kids love the name). I have them all saved in "My Content" on the US site. I spend about 20-30 minutes a day reviewing with them and then the rest of class (about 40-50 minutes) on the current science curriculum...solar system. There are video quizzes at the end which really help the kids feel confident about the material. I also put together some fun packets for review.

Monday (today): SIMPLE MACHINES
Tuesday (tomorrow): ROCK CYCLE/ ROCKS AND MINERALS
Thursday: ROCK CYCLE/ ROCKS AND MINERALS cont.
Friday: WATER CYCLE/WATERSHEDS (I also created a power point for this one)

We will continue next week with electricity and life cycles review.

The science MCAS results last year were very good. I think the review helped them a lot.
